A friend bought gold & silver bars ~10 years ago. Now, when prices are high, he went to sell them… and boom — turns out it was a scam.
The “gold” was actually Nordic gold (copper + zinc + aluminum), and the silver was just copper plated. They only found out when the buyer did an acid test and machine scan. Even the inside of the bar looked real at the time of purchase.
Lesson: Even stamped gold isn’t always safe. Scams are real.
With BTC, the blockchain verifies everything — not some fake 999.99 stamp. I’m now shifting from gold/silver to Bitcoin and getting all my metals checked (which also costs extra).
